Red Laser

Red Laser

The quality structured Red lasers for alignment applications. The laser line generators and cross-hair projectors are used in alignment systems around the world.

Pattern:

Type of pattern do to project onto your target

Common patterns used in alignment applications:

Single line
» 501L or 701L* lens

Cross hair
» 501H lens

*For alignment purposes, the 501L lens is intended for green lasers while the 701L lens is intended for red lasers.

Working distance:

Far of laser be from the target

Use the fan angle and line length calculator to determine the fan angle (the angular spread of the laser beam) or the line length at your desired working distance.

Wavelength:

Color should be emit

  • Red (635 nm) lasers are recommended and usually suitable for laser alignment applications. However, green (532 nm) lasers have a higher visibility, as the human eye is more sensitive to green. For example, a 1 mW green beam (532 nm) will be better perceived by the human eye than a 1 mW red beam (635 nm).
  • Red lasers are generally less expensive than green lasers.

Eye safety:

Laser eye safe

  • Keep your laser eye safe in class II (CDRH standards) or class 1/2/2M (IEC standards).
  • The output power of your laser is directly proportional to the safety level of your laser. The higher the output power, the higher the class rating of your laser.
  • The fan angle of your line laser can change the eye safety level of your laser. Generally, larger fan angles are more eye safe than smaller ones.
  • Please consult a Coherent representative to determine the class rating of your desired laser, or visit the Laser Safety section of our website for more details.
